Dr. Will Sawyer, from Sharonville Ohio, is urging for the universal adoption of face shields. Clear plastic shield that protect the whole face. “If we stopped self-inoculating (with the virus), this pandemic would be over in three weeks,” he said.
As parents, teachers, students and administrators puzzle over how to open school with the coronavirus potentially in every classroom, Dr. Will Sawyer of Sharonville says he has the answer, and it’s not cloth masks. The advantages would be of using face shields for schools, Sawyer said, are
They can be cleaned and reused indefinitely. They’re comfortable to wear and don’t interfere with eyeglasses or hearing aids. They don’t get in the way of nonverbal communication. Most important, Sawyer said, “They keep your 10 deadly enemies away from your face – your fingers.”
Face shields as a common piece of personal protection equipment is a perfect solution to reopen the schools. Face shields are easy to get used to for kids but also ideal for educators. As kids with hearing problems can see teachers’ lip movements and facial expressions.
